Here is a curly question.

If a horse just out of the wild and untouched by humans is the most horse-like horse a horse can be, is our ability as horse handlers measured by how much of the horse we keep inside the horse during the training, or is it measured by how well we manipulate a horse to be of use and value to our needs? Does training sacrifice something of what it takes to be a horse?

Are both possible? Can we keep the horse inside the horse and while still creating a friend that is happy to work with us and perform its job to the best of its abilities? Or do we have to choose one or the other? If so, how can we have both? Give it some thought.
